SeniorFlow Moment – Life Is Good!

Seniors today are aging better and are more vibrant and aware than most Seniors of previous generations. Thanks to modern medicine and better health practices, you are living longer and better lives than before. Many of you have stayed active longer and are in better physical condition than those seniors of earlier generations. 65 is the new 50. Some say 70 is the new 50. And, unfortunately, some feel and act like they are 90 when they are only turning 50.

I am 85 and sometimes feel like 55. Other times I feel my age. Generally speaking, Life is good! I am publishing this at a hotel in Morgantown, WVA, on the return drive from Cincinnati, Ohio to Northern Virginia. I was at my first grandaughter’s wedding where I enjoyed being among young people two generations away from my own. Talk about Energy! Wow!

I know there are a lot of Seniors like you, who want to focus your lives in a healthy direction and get away from the stagnation, boredom, and physical decay that often pop up after the initial excitement of retirement. You are entering or moving through a new stage in life where health, fitness and personal energy becomes a priority. You begin to recognize that health, fitness and personal energy lead to a better lifestyle and legacy.

As Seniors, you and I face a lot of challenges — some real and some perceived as real. These challenges include lack of mobility, weakening bodies, increased incidents of illness, falling, increasing isolation, boredom and depression, all leading to that loss of independent living that we dread most of all.

Of course, you can prevent the premature aging that saps the energy from our lives. I’ve been promoting physical movement (exercise), intelligent eating, and a Positive Mindset toward life, in the more than 500 articles from my “Come Alive Project” and “Seniorflow” blog posts over the last decade and a half.

When I started the Come Alive Project as my Legacy Project nearly 16 years ago, I intended it to be an awareness campaign for active Seniors about how to discover the Fountain of Youth within each of us through Health, Fitness, Personal Energy and Lifestyle. More recently, as SeniorFlow, I have continued to do talks and workshops on the subject and intend to continue both writing and publishing these articles and giving the talks, for as long as I am physically able. Heck, it’s fun! Plus, I have enjoyed the many positive comments I have received over the years.

Oh, and by the way, I practice what I preach. That’s why today, at age 85, I often feel like “85 going on 55”. I feel better now than before because of the changes in lifestyle I made nearly sixteen years ago. I added more physical movement, intelligent eating and better habits back into my life. I am still following the message that I created SeniorFlow to spread.

I hope you are doing the same. Thank you for reading this SeniorFlow Moment.
