A SeniorFlow Moment – How Long Will You Live?

·

·

How long will you live? Would like to be able to predict in advance, the exact day you will pass? There is a website that will tell you. It has me living until February 4, 2034. Let’s see, that’s two months short of my 94th birthday.

The website is www.deathclock.com.

It asks a short series of questions about your age and lifestyle and predicts your “date of passage” based on your answers. I think the key questions are related to your body mass index and a question about smoking.

Your body mass index is a ratio between your height and your weight and is a key determinate of your overall health. It reflects on how well you are able to manage your physicality.

This blog has always been about what we can do to manage our own health, lifestyle and happiness. For most of us, we tend to ignore the things that keep us healthy and active. We all have the ability to manage our own physicality and it is our responsibility to do so.

“Controlling your body puts you in life’s driver’s seat”
—Tim Ferriss, The 4-Hour Body

If you do nothing else but take a walk every day, you are at least doing something to help put you in life’s driver’s seat. Get outside a bit every day, eat real food and build up your energy for life through physical movement, and you might just extend your date of passage shown on that website.

Note that there are a number of links on the site to other places. One is a link to a supplement site. I don’t know if they are the same people or if it’s an advertiser, but just be aware that I don’t endorse supplement sites. That will be the topic of an upcoming post. I also don’t promise the accuracy of your “date of passage” and am just using it for illustration. Have fun with it anyway.

This has been a SeniorFlow Moment. Thank you for reading.
