Spring started two days ago on March 20th. It represents a re-awakening of Nature. Here’s a thought: Why not recognize the 1st Day of Spring as the day we begin our own Personal Renewal or Re-Awakening? Instead, we use January 1st, the beginning of a new calendar year to start our journey to a revitalized and re-energized senior. At least some people do.
Unfortunately, all too many people who realize the importance of renewing or rebuilding their own Personal Health, Fitness and Personal Energy on January 1st, start forgetting it by February.
Is that because it is Winter in the Northern Hemisphere? The days are short. People slow down in Winter. There is very little outside activity for most of us? Many who sincerely wanted to rejuvenate their BODY and BEING on January 1st, seem to lose both their momentum and their interest within a month. Ask any gym owner, they have the statistics.
But, isn’t the entire concept of Spring a time for renewal and the re-energizing of life. It’s a time of a new beginning, a time of rebuilding. It’s the real time in the life cycle of Nature when re-birth actually happens and you can see it happen right in front of your eyes. Why not be a part of it?
Can YOU be reborn starting at the beginning of Spring? Of course. Everything in nature is re-born in the Spring. So why not you? I can’t think of a better time to begin some sort of physical movement program, even if it just starts with walking. Look at the buds on the bushes and trees and flowers. They start off slow and then grow like gangbusters. You can too.
So start over. Start fresh with the Springtime renewal in nature. Renew yourself now, while Spring has just started. Get moving. Make a commitment to health and wellbeing for your Body and Being starting now.
Go for that walk. Don’t put it off. Put a spring in your step (did I really say that?). Open your front door and walk through it and keep walking. Ten minutes out and ten minutes back to start with. Then longer. Your future health and fitness and most importantly, your personal energy, will start to improve with those first steps out the door.
Start becoming ageless instead of aging as you create your own Rites of Spring.
